Learn at Lunch : Taking Steps to Avoid Being a Victim of Fraud with Paul Rice

On Friday, June 14th, the Marina Chamber of Commerce will hold a business lunch forum for individuals and businesses at 220 Twelfth St, Marina, CA 93933.
A light lunch will be provided and sponsored by Monterey Premier. The facility is provided by kind folks at The Veterans Transition Center of Monterey County.
Protecting Yourself and Your Business From Fraud
The presentation developed by Paul Rice with the capable assistance of Community Service Officer Neola Barnet, is a plain speak discussion of the many forms of fraud, (computer, phone, email, door to door and others, and how individuals and businesses can take steps to avoid becoming a victim of this fraud. Further, as the fraudsters and their schemes are constantly developing, changing and becoming more sophisticated, generally applicable ground rules are also discussed.
About the Speaker : Paul Rice
Paul obtained his B.A. degree from the University of Michigan, his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of law, and an LL.M. from New York University. While in law school he worked In the California Attorney General’s office in the Consumer Protection Unit. He practiced law in California for over 40 years before retiring to Monterey in 2015. His practice for the last 30 plus years was limited to civil litigation. During his last 3 years of practice, he served as a Commissioner on California’s Judicial Nominees Evaluation Commission. Paul has handled thousands of cases of a diverse nature, and has tried to judgment approximately 50 jury and non-jury
trials in both State and Federal Court.
