I could not be more honored to serve as President & Chair of the Marina Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors during these challenging times. The Chamber has a long history of important accomplishments in our community dating back many years. I believe that this year is going to be one of those years as our business community recovers, modernizes, and refocuses to meet the needs of our diverse, fast-growing, and ever-changing community post-COVID.
What’s on the Chamber’s Roadmap?
In these last 15 months, we have shifted our focus to helping Chamber Members (and our local business community in general) get through the many challenges and difficulties faced during the 2020 & 2021 pandemic & economic crisis. As we continue to see restrictions lifting and people getting back to work, I look forward to pushing ahead with our goals to help drive the economic recovery for our community and to make the Chamber an effective convener, collaborator and community builder within our regional business eco-system.
There are many local organizations, businesses, associations and affiliations doing great things locally and our Chamber wants to work with those who are already working hard to make our community stronger. We have a very talented, experienced, diverse and engaged Board of Directors who share this vision.
With all the changes we all have faced in 2020 & 2021, expect to see some exciting changes to Chamber programming and events! In addition to our all-volunteer Board of Directors, we now have paid staff to better help us achieve our goals more effectively and efficiently. We are also starting to see an increase in new memberships/renewals and I believe the economic recovery for Marina businesses will be sooner rather than later.
We Want to Hear From You
We especially welcome those of you who may not have found value in the Chamber in the past to take a moment to re-introduce yourself to what this new Chamber can do for you. Our Chamber will educate, communicate and advocate on behalf of the interests of business, small and large, whether member or not – but we are confident you will want to become a member when you see the direction we are headed.
We know that our effectiveness in helping your business succeed is not based on us telling you what you need, but rather you telling us what you need so that we can work together in finding the best solutions. I know I can speak for the rest of the Board of Directors when I say that we want to hear from you about what is important to your business and how the Chamber can help you achieve success.

The Marina Chamber of Commerce is comprised of our member businesses, an all-volunteer Board of Directors, and staff. We are committed to introducing and promoting member businesses and raising their profiles in Marina and surrounding areas.
MCOC’s Mission & Vision
The Marina Chamber of Commerce is organized to preserve the competitive enterprise system of business; to help ensure business and community growth and development; and to develop civic, social, and cultural programs that will enhance the values of our community.
There are several ways we are doing this. One of the most practical opportunities we have is by helping our chamber members and local businesses get more online visibility and marketing opportunities in our surrounding areas as well as for travelers visiting the Monterey Bay area. We do this through our website, content marketing strategies, social media management & email marketing strategies.

By highlighting these wonderful Marina attributes in our international content marketing campaigns, we are able to bring in potential new customers and clients to our members. And now that COVID-19 restrictions are starting to ease -up, we are looking forward to having our more traditional networking & in-person events soon.
