One of the benefits of our new community-based website is the Marina Chamber of Commerce Community Events Calendar. The goal of our Community Events Calendar is to give our community members a platform to share their special events with the whole community.
Our website visitors come from all over the world looking for things to do and places to shop in Marina. Our newsletter goes out each week to over 400 subscribers. Our Calendar Is Easy To Use For Visitors
Visitors to the Marina Chamber of Commerce website can choose to view our calendar in a grid, list, or day by day. Our events are searchable and have severable filterable options for our visitors. The single event page gives visitors an opportunity to read what it is all about, see the dates, times, prices, map and contact information.
Our Calendar Is Easy For Users To Add Events
We now accept user-submitted events on our calendar, so you do not have to be a chamber member to submit your event. Below, you will find the steps for adding your event to our calendar.
Step By Step Instructions
In the top menu, select the menu item called “Submit Your Event”
The first few fields you will fill out are the Event Title, Event Description, Event Time & Date. Please add as much details in the event description as possible. It will help your event get found by search engines.
Next you will be asked to upload an image. We highly recommend images be 1200×630 for best results on the website and for sharing on social media.
Next you will add tags. Tags are keywords that are relevant to your event. It helps search engines know how to organize your event. If you are not sure what to add, you can leave it blank.
Next you will add the venue. You can select from a venue that has already been entered. If you cannot find the venue, you can enter the info for a new venue to be added to our system.
Next you will add the organizer. You can select from an organizer that has already been entered. If you cannot find the organizer, you can enter the info for a new organizer to be added to our system.
Lastly, you will add the event website address (if any) and the cost (if any). Both of these are optional and you can leave blank. Once you are done, you can hit “Submit”
We Promote Announcements and News Separately From Events.
If you are looking to make an announcement or share a news article, we have a different system for that. Our events are based on a date system, and they expire off the calendar when the date passes, but our announcements remain on our Community Blog.
