The Friends of the Marina Library Love for Their Community
Through sales from The Friends of the Marina Library bookstore called Friends Community Bookstore, The Friends of the Marina Library has been able to fund their local library by paying for programs and maintenance of the library. Not only do they fund their local library, they also hosted many free events for the people in their community.
They hosted an event called Block Party where they provided a space for children to have free play with all the toys set out for them. They hosted an event called Movie Matinees where the community was invited to watch a free movie served with popcorn. They also hosted free concerts, where local bands were invited to play music for the community.
Unfortunately due to covid many of their in person events had to be put on hold.
But even during a pandemic The Friends of the Marina Library is still involved in providing funds for their local library and coming up with creative ways to host fun events for their community.
