Ocean Trilogy, a collaboration between SpectorDance and the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, is a multidisciplinary performance and educational program about ocean health at a critical moment in human history. Inspired by interviews with renown ocean experts, Ocean Trilogy weaves together live rap and classical music, urban and contemporary dance, visual images, and scientific content into a unique production that explores the human impacts challenging our ocean, hopeful possibilities from cutting-edge ocean science research, and the importance of embracing science as the foundation for making informed policy decisions. Ocean Trilogy aims to heighten awareness of ocean science, promote conversation, and explore ways that dance can inspire stewardship. Also included in the evening’s presentation is Rap Guide to Climate Chaos, a hip hop theater piece created and performed by NYC-based Baba Brinkman. Sunset Center is proud to present this Community Showcase and also have this wonderful local organization participate in our Classroom ConnectionsArts Education Program.
